February 3rd, 2026
On Monday, February 2, at a Board Meeting of the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB), Trustees ratified a proposed change to the attendance boundaries at:
- Central Public School
- Moffat Creek Public School
- Stewart Avenue Public School
This was an abridged boundary review, focused on a small area, which is why a simplified process was used. It was undertaken in response to feedback from the Branchton community.
These changes will take effect beginning September 2026.
Summary of Changes
For those living in the impacted boundary:
- Students currently attending Central Public School for Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 will be directed to Moffat Creek Public School, effective September 2026
- Grade 7 students currently attending Stewart Avenue Public School may remain at that school for Grade 8 in the 2026-2027 school year
- Students currently in Grade 8 are unaffected by this change
- New students to this area (Affected Area A – see below) will attend Moffat Creek Public School
The Impacted Area
The impacted area is a predominantly rural area containing the community of Branchton. It is currently directed to Central PS for Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 and Stewart Avenue PS for Grade 7 and 8.
The subject area is located south of the Cambridge–North Dumfries boundary line and is bounded by the Grand River to the east, the North Dumfries–Hamilton boundary to the west, and the North Dumfries–Brant County boundary to the south.
