Region of Waterloo Public Health and Emergency Services is hosting public consultations on the proposed Consumption and Treatment Services (CTS) sites. CTS sites are one service within a continuum of evidence-based services that support people living with problematic substance use. They provide a hygienic environment to prevent fatal overdose and other harms from substance use, while also providing contact with additional services such as counselling, primary care, and treatment.
One of the proposed sites, 150 Main Street in Cambridge, is located less than 200m from Central Public School.
Other proposed CTS sites are:
- 115 Water Street North, Kitchener
- 150 Duke Street West, Kitchener
- 105 Victoria Street North, Kitchener
Members of the community are invited to take part in the consultation process on January 31 or February 4, 2019, in Cambridge and February 5 and 7, 2019 in Kitchener. Please register online for the date you are interested in.
An online survey is also available if you cannot attend a public consultation session or if you wish to provide additional feedback.
More information regarding CTS sites is available on the Public Health and Emergency Services website.
